    Best Hotels on Sukhumvit Road?

Last year I stayed few a few nights at the Admiral Premier, 138 Sukhumvit Soi 23. I booked on wotif.com but the rates at the counter were pretty much the same. Good location and close to everything! Hope that helps! - Ian almost 10 years ago

What are some things to do around Chiang Mai?

Go on a tour of Doi Inthanon National Park, the highest peak in Thailand. There are some really large (modern) temples and is a good half day trip. almost 10 years ago

Is there a sleeper train between Chang Mai and Bangkok?

Yes.. make sure you pay for a sleeper bed otherwise it will be an uncomfortable experience! I did the trip last year and the train broke down in the middle of the forest for a few hours, but we got there in the end. The price was pretty reasonable (800 baht?) and I booked it at the train station. It's good to check at least a day beforehand as they do sell out. almost 10 years ago

How can you ship electronics with batteries from Australia?

I think there may be restrictions for lithium batteries as they were recently linked to a fire in a cargo hold of a cargo plane that crashed recently - http://www.theaustralian.com.au/travel/news/faa-issues-fire-warning-for-lithium-batteries/story-e6frg8ro-1225936956902 almost 10 years ago

So many places to stay in Thailand - how do you choose ?

My favorite place is Koh Tao - the smaller island with lots of diving, secluded beaches, and a bit more off the beaten path. almost 10 years ago

What are the best non-touristy things to do?

Take the muni for a few stops - always an interesting experience and lots of people to watch. Check out http://www.munidiaries.com/ for some info. almost 10 years ago

What are some of the top scams I should look out for while I am in Thailand?

This is a bit more of an inconvenience, but there are some taxis that wait outside hotels, offer you a good fare, then will make up some excuse to "get petrol" or "drop something off" and take you to a jewler or clothes store. They will keep trying to take you to stores and make you feel guilty if you don't buy anything. Best just to get out (somewhere on the main street!) of the taxi and find a genuine one! almost 10 years ago

Where are the best Pinot wineries?

Yes, there are some great wineries down there. We drove from Wanaka to Queenstown and stopped at a few. My favorite was a little winery called Aurum which made a very nice Pino Gris as well as their own olive oil. I'm not a huge fan of Pinot Noir so can't comment on them! about 10 years ago
